A 23-year-old Dearborn woman was convicted Jan. 13 for her role in a scheme that stole $65 million from various pharmaceutical co-pay assistance programs. Suzan Berro's trial took six days before she was found guilty. U.S. Attorney Dawn N. Ison announced the conviction Jan. 17. Berro will be sentenced May 1. She faces up to 20 years in prison on each count. The specific number of counts was not released. According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Berro, engaged in a conspiracy to submit fraudulent reimbursement claims to numerous pharmaceutical manufacturer's co-pay assistance programs.
